Marvel Comics Unveils New X-Men Titles and Creative Teams at SXSW: A Look at the Future of Mutantkind

Marvel Comics recently made an exciting at SXSW, revealing the future of the X-Men with the debut of three new titles. The titles include X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Exceptional X-Men, all of which will feature new creative teams. The respective teams for each title will consist of Jed MacKay and for X-Men, Gail Simone, and David Marquez for Uncanny X-Men, and Eve L. Ewing and Carmen Carnero for Exceptional X-Men.

Marvel has also promised more X-Men title announcements, including new ongoing team books, solo series, and more. The announcement coincides with the debut of the X-Men '97 animated series on .

Each of the three new series will explore different aspects of the mutant mythos, taking Marvel's Merry Mutants into bold and previously unexplored territories. The new titles were created in the wake of the Krakoan Age and will showcase the latest of the X-Men.

The X-Men: From The Ashes will be the first series to hit the stands on July 10th, written by Jed MacKay and illustrated by Ryan Stegman. It will follow the X-Men's journey following the end of as they raise a flag of defiance from their new base in Alaska. The series will feature Cyclops, Beast, , Psylocke, Kid Omega, Temper (formerly Oya), Magik, and Juggernaut as they fight against new forces and battle for the destiny and philosophy of the mutant species.

Gail Simone and David Marquez's Uncanny X-Men series will be released on August 7th, featuring the X-Men as outlaw heroes on a new mission. The X-Men will make themselves home in the Big Easy, protecting a world that hates and fears them. The series will feature Rogue, , Nightcrawler, , and on explosive superhero adventures.

Eve L. Ewing and Carmen Carnero's Exceptional X-Men series will be released soon, with more details to come. According to Marvel, the series will delve deep into the emotional side of what it means to be different and exceptional. David Marquez is the perfect artist for the book, with his amazing and character work and his enthusiasm about getting into the characters appearing in this book.
